Position: Staff Technologist

Employer: Sleep Telemedicine Services, Inc.

Job Details: Require current RPSGT or CPSGT certification with appropriate CEUs, current BLS in good standing.

-Attend staff meetings and in-services
-Provide care of patients with a variety of medical diagnosis and resulting complications
-Efficient application of recording devices to the patient
-Monitoring of polysomnograms to ensure the integrity of diagnostic data collection through proper calibration and monitoring throughout the procedure
-Recognition of sleep pathology when it occurs in the laboratory and respond with appropriate interventions to ensure patient safety
-Set up CPAP and BiLevel in accordance with established protocols
-Perform, record, and review adult polysomnograms and produce reports
-Ability and knowledge to follow all standard operating procedures at all times for patient studies and pre and post study requirements in AASM and Joint Commission facilities
-Provide patient/family education
-Monitor patient status and response to therapy
-Assures physical safety conditions are observed in all patient related situations
-Check physician orders prior to the initiation of any treatment or procedure
-Participates in departmental quality assurance/performance improvement activities
-Notify supervisor of equipment malfunction in a timely manner
-Assist with other duties as assigned by the Director/Manager of the Sleep Diagnostic Center
-Take appropriate measures to ensure safety of patients: utilize, ensure compliance, and enforce National Patient Safety Goals
